Sonya Barss, BSc., MLA/T, CCRP, Clinical Trials Monitor/CRS Division

Sonya Barss joined KGK in January 2006.  She earned her BSc. from St. Francis Xavier University with an advanced major in Biology.  Ms Barss has achieved the designation of Certified Clinical Research Professional from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) and continues to remain a member in good standing.  Ms Barss has also achieved Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician from the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists.  Prior to joining KGK, Ms Barss worked as a senior clinical research coordinator and has over five years of experience in the field of clinical research.

Ms Barss is responsible for monitoring all our clinical research studies.  She coordinates and contributes to protocol development and regulatory applications.  Ms Barss is also responsible for our Research Ethics Board submissions.  She monitors trial conduct to ensure that all aspects are in conformance with ICH GCP guidelines and Health Canada regulations.  Ms. Barss oversees the flow of data from the point of collection to incorporation into the final report.
