Dr. Julie Conquer, Clinical Trials Consultant, received her BSc (Biology) from the University of Waterloo in 1987. She then went on to complete her MSc (Nutritional Sciences) in 1990 at the University of Guelph and then in 1994 received a PhD (Cellular and Molecular Pathology) from the University of Toronto. Dr. Conquer has over 10 years of experience, including post-doctoral experience) in the area of clinical trials involving Natural Health Products (NHP). From 1999 until 2003, Dr. Conquer was Director of the Human Nutraceutical Research Unit (HNRU) at the University of Guelph, a research unit with a specific interest in human efficacy studies involving NHPs and functional foods. As well as supervising graduate students, she taught a fourth-year "Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods" course and also held the position of Director of the Natural Health Products Technology Cluster, a business cluster for those with an interest in NHPs. Dr. Conquer has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and numerous abstracts. She has written numerous invited reviews/book chapters. At present, Dr. Conquer is an adjunct professor at the Department of Human Biology and Nutritional Sciences, University of Guelph and principal of RGB Consulting.
