Dr. Ferguson is an adjunct professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, The University of Western Ontario. He has many years of experience as a cancer researcher at the London Regional Cancer Program - London Health Sciences Centre. In collaboration with Dr. Ferguson, KGK has obtained grants from the American Institute for Cancer Research, The Florida Department of Citrus, Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Ontario Government. He has supervised numerous student research projects, has reviewed grants for the Medical Research Council of Canada, and has been a reviewer for scientific journals such as Cancer Research, Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Biochemical Pharmacology and Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology. He has given numerous presentations and has published in peer-reviewed journals.
KGK has retained Peter Johnson, principal of Muirfield Advisors Inc., as a strategic consultant. Mr. Johnson also serves on KGK's Board of Directors. Peter was formerly a senior partner at McCarthy, Tetrault LLP and KGK's principal legal advisor until his retirement from the practice of law in spring 2003. He has extensive experience in the biotechnology and life-sciences fields, having represented London Health Sciences Centre, the Lawson Health Research Institute and the John P. Robarts Research Institute for many years; and in particular in their commercialization activities and spinoffs such as Diabetogen Biosciences, Plantigen, Life Imaging Systems and Viron. He has extensive experience in licensing, financing and governance issues. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business with an HBA and MBA and a graduate of the University of Western Ontario's law school. He is currently a director of Hydrogenics Corporation (NASDAQ:HYGS and TSX:HYG), London Hydro Inc. and Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic.
